Gusher, from More City than Water
About Gusher
More City than Water is a collaborative project between UH Graphic Design students and Rice University Professor Lacy Johnson to create a post Hurricane Harvey Atlas. Expressive and informative maps were designed to narrate essay contributions by climate scholars, environmentalists, housing activists, architects, urban planners, and poets. The project was funded through a Public Humanities grant.
My map, Gusher defined a story written by Sonia Hamer, that covers the relationship between the discovery of oil in Texas many year ago, and the devastating effect of oil spills during Harvey.
