The student project Disparity is an infographic poster that illustrates the relationship of water access to people’s socio-economic status in the U.S.
A very large portion of this project consisted of finding and confirming the research conducted on the topic of environmental justice. After I collected enough credible data, I sorted it by content and by the type of data.
I really wanted this poster to have a strong central element, with additional smaller graphs around it. The large infographic in the center shows two sets of data: people living in poverty, and the average water bill per state. On the sides, there are additional pieces of interesting data as they relate to different states. On the bottom I included more smaller infographics showing increase in water bills over the years, types of water disparity people experience, water access challenges, and so on.
